If you will come to Brazil to see the World Cup 2014, you probably like football so much. Thus, you should get around knowing about the local football teams until interacting with the local crowd . The football team was born in 1931. Esporte Clube Bahia is the biggest team in the state , and it has about 2.5 million supporters. The brazilian national titles are divided by 17 clubs , and Bahia has two bowls , both won in 1959 and 1988. The first one won after defeating the " invincible " Santos of Pelé in the final. In 1951 Fonte Nova Stadium (or Otavio Mangabeira Stadium) was founded and interaction Bahia with the stadium was inevitable , with the stage of eternal memories. In the semi finals on 1988’S National Championship, it received perhaps its most memorable match. Bahia 2 x 1 Fluminense brought over one hundred and ten thousand people to the stadium. A crowd that will likely never be reached again at the New Arena Fonte Nova.

One of the major remarks of Esporte Clube Bahia is its anthem. Undoubtely, the most beautiful amongst all the brazilian teams. The intro of the song , before the letter is chilling to any supporter . Check out video and lyrics :

Somos do povo o clamor (We are the people's shout)
Ninguém nos vence em vibração (Nobody wins us in vibration)

In 2011 a movie about the team, called "Bahia Minha Vida”, was released . It is the second most watched movie about soccer in Brazil , after "Pelé Eterno" . It's been likely impossible for a fan not to cry while watching the movie . It's really exciting.
The official trailer. Turn on the legends:
The official trailer. Turn on the legends:
Emphasis on the last sentence of the trailer : " The Bahia playing and winning ... Hail Mary ... You can spend a week with hunger , but will go with love ." That's it.
Some famous players are globally declared supporters of Bahia , as Daniel Alves of Barcelona, and Dante of Bayern Munich , both players of the Brazilian national team that will compete in the World Cup 2014.
If you will watch any match of the World Cup in new Arena Fonte Nova Stadium, or even in some bar in the town, you will certainly hear a characteristic cry of twisted Bahia: "Bora Baêa Minha Porra!." The translation is complicated, but it would be something like "Let's Go Bahia , Fuuuuck ! " . Sorry to the Puritans . :P
If you come to Salvador, is an obligation to take a Esporte Clube Bahia souvenir, like a shirt , a mug, a flag , whatever. Get it and show the world that your heart has also a spot for Esporte Clube Bahia. And send the link of your photo in the comments for us.
As we say here, tricolors greetings. Welcome to the Bahia. And know, here, We are Bahia!
